The safety and welfare of minors is of the utmost importance to Fruugo.
Fruugo’s Protection of Minors Policy outlines the guidelines and provisions for preserving the safety of minors when using the Fruugo platform. This policy also details the measures taken by Fruugo to protect children’s privacy in respect to their personal data.
‘Minors’ in this context are considered to be anyone under eighteen (18) years of age. There may be certain countries in which this age limit is higher and purchasers are required to ensure they are compliant with the applicable laws in their country.
Age Restricted Goods
In accordance with Fruugo’s Prohibited Product Policy , many age restricted products, such as alcohol and tobacco are prohibited from sale on the Fruugo platform.
There are certain products made available by third-party retailers using the Fruugo platform that legally require age verification processes to be followed prior to any parcel being handed over to a purchaser. Fruugo mandates that all third-party retailers using its platform must use such age verification procedures where applicable.
Fruugo takes a zero tolerance approach to any harmful or age-inappropriate content being made available to minors on its platform. Fruugo has a robust Notice and Take Down procedure and any illegal content brought to our attention will be removed expeditiously and measures will be taken internally to prevent it from reappearing.
Unfortunately, some third-parties may not adhere to our retailer terms and conditions and they may try to circumvent our content blocks and non-compliant content or products may occasionally find their way onto the Fruugo platform. In such circumstances, these products are removed promptly by Fruugo when they are identified.
Retailers found to be in contravention of this Protection of Minor’s Policy shall be escalated for internal disciplinary action, which may include permanent removal from the Fruugo platform.
Fruugo takes its commitment to protect minors extremely seriously. If you identify any content that you consider should not be available on the Fruugo platform, please report it through our Notice and Takedown procedure (Third party complaints policy ). Responses to these notifications will be treated as a priority.
Accounts on Fruugo
Buyers must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years in order to independently purchase products from third-party retailers using from the Fruugo platform.
Anyone, provided they are at least eighteen (18) years of age, may create an account on the Fruugo platform. In addition, users must have an email address and may then go on to purchase from third-parties using the Fruugo platform provided that they have access to one of the accepted forms of payment on Fruugo (e.g. Visa, PayPal).
Minors under the age of 18 must not register or make purchases unless they have the permission of an appropriate adult, whilst under the direct supervision of their parent or legal guardian, and with the personal and financial information on the account being that of a parent/legal guardian. The adult account holder in this instance will be responsible for everything done with that account.
Selling on Fruugo
In order to register for the use of Fruugo services, you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. If you are not of legal age in your country of residence, you must have a parent or legal guardian complete the registration, and operate the account on your behalf.
The adult responsible for the account will be legally responsible for any and all account activity conducted by the minor on this account.
The personal and financial information on this account must belong to the parent or legal guardian who is responsible for the account.
Minor Data Privacy
Fruugo’s services are not intended for the use by children. Fruugo does not knowingly collect personal data from users who are considered minors under applicable national laws. In accordance with our website Terms of Use, children are not permitted to use our Services.
This section is designed to describe how Fruugo handles any personal information collected from a minor under the age of 18. If you are a minor and you are unsure about anything here, please ask your parent or guardian for help.

A stated above, Fruugo’s services are not aimed at minors and Fruugo services are not intended to be used by anyone under the age of eighteen (18) without the supervision of an appropriate adult who themselves are the account holder.
You acknowledge by using Fruugo’s services that Fruugo may use your information in the United Kingdom and any other country in which Fruugo operates its platform. However, this information will only be made use of in line with Fruugo’s Privacy Notice referenced above. Fruugo does not knowingly ‘sell’ (as defined under applicable law) the personal information of any users including minors.
On an appropriate adults account, in line with Fruugo’s Privacy Notice, Fruugo may collect and process: a) Information you give us (such as information provided upon registration, product searches, orders placed on the account); b) Information we collect about you (such as upon each visit to our site, automatically collecting technical information, linking IP address, login information, time zone settings); c) Information we receive from other sources (such as information from any other website we operate or third parties such business partners we work with).
